A Mountainous Task If Ever There Was!

There have been times when I've been smitten to the core because my kids were better examples of Christ than I. They demonstrated attributes I thought that I'd not only learned long ago, but (do I dare admit this?) mastered! What's more, their actions seemed to resonate from their innocence and further shocked me to realize, lo and behold, somewhere along the lines that I had lost my own. I wasn't as spiritually grown-up as I fancied myself to be. In fact, I found myself incredibly spiritually immature, with my raging pride large and in charge.
Seeking help, I bought this book and through the pages found much needed deliverance and encouragement. Imagine my delight when I read about Jesus explaining that we are to humble ourselves as little children! Wonderful news! I appreciate my little teachers, who, although they certainly aren't perfect, at times demonstrate qualities that remind me of how God wants me to be.
Having previously read another of the author's books, "The Powerful Voltage of Christ's Humility", I highly recommend buying the two together, as they greatly compliment each other. In this book I saw myself, while in the other I saw Christ, the One Who led a perfect spotless life.
This book also details many examples in God's Word of those who humbled themselves and those who didn't.

An Excellent Guide For Overcoming Spiritual Pride

Just as Christ Himself lived a life on earth of humility, we as Christians must learn to live such a life as He. As I have learned in my journey with Christ, spiritual pride often gets in the way of following in Christ's footsteps and living with my feet ordered according to God's Word. This book is a fabulous eye opener to spiritual pride and is an excellent reference for overcoming our spiritual pride. Being packed with scripture reference, you can rest assured that you will glean Truth that will lead you along in your spiritual journey and growth.

Becoming Humble as a Child Who is Led by the Word of the Lord

After reading this book, I became painfully aware of how pride had pervaded my life and was in the crevices of seemingly unselfish acts, thoughts and feelings. Oftentimes we feel as if things are not going the way we believe they should go and that just grinning and bearing it is humility. Well, think again! This book details, from front to back, how this way of thinking and being is erroneous and a hindrance in our walk with Christ. From detailing the lives of those individuals in the Bible who refused, in their hard heartedness, to humble themselves to giving examples of individuals who after willingly humbling themselves were blessed of the Lord, this book helps capture the essence of what God wants for us in our daily lives.
What's funny is that I work with children and I have noted on many occasions how they actively practice what God has laid out in his Holy Word: humility. They get hurt by others and they forgive them and love them anyway. They do not seek for worldly gains, humbly give you their last and will willingly depend on others. The author showcases how God detailed step by step how we can become as little children and be in total submission and entirely dependent on Him for our sustenance and protection. Children are led where they go and so should we be led by the Word of the Lord and His Holy Divine Plan for our lives.
It was an eye-opener to understand that while I may not be worshipping graven images or idols, I was worshipping the notion that unpleasant things that happened in my life were not justified or unwarranted. Learning more about God's plan humankind and His Divine Purpose in placing me in perilous situations, gave me more gratitude and love for my Savior. I am grateful that I read this book and I would recommend it to anyone seeking to deepen and enrich their walk with Christ. I recommend reading this and "The Powerful Voltage of Humility" in conjunction as they are complementary to each other and provide an excellent picture of the true and magnificent spiritual blessings in humility.
